People: Russell Brand may pocket $31M in divorce from Katy Perry
Russell Brand could make as much as $31 million in his divorce from wife Katy Perry.
The comedian/actor would reap half of the couple's earnings even after just 14 months of marriage, according to London's Daily Mail.
Brand, 36, and Perry, 27, didn't sign a prenup when they married in October 2010 so under California law, he could be awarded half of everything.
Perry has been fabulously popular as a singer. She's the first female artist to have five hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in one year. Her second studio album Teenage Dream was released in August 2010 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

Reports say that Perry asked Brand to file for her, saying she didn't want to upset her evangelical parents.
The fact that Brand is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict became a problem for the couple, according to the celebrity website Janetcharltonshollywood. Perry reportedly loved to party with friends like Rihanna, and Brand disapproved of their outings, causing a rift between the couple.
Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday outside The Savoy Hotel in London , he said: 'I'm doing good. Everything is going to be better next year.'
