Katy Perry In First Public Appearance Since Split

Katy Perry has made her first public appearance since her split from hubby Russell Brand went public over the festive season.

The 27-year-old showed off a sexy new blue hairdo as she was accompanied by her best friend Markus Molinari at a charity event in Las Vegas.

Although she has played gigs since the split was announced on December 30, her appearance with jewellery designer Markus at the opening of the Mirage Hotel's 1OAK nightclub is her first outing in a social atmosphere.

And she was complimented on her sleek and sexy look by none other than Paris Hilton, who tweeted: "Katy Perry looking gorgeous across the room. Love her hair & dress! Stunning!"

Katy was reported to have been more reserved than usual, though appearing to have a good time. She tweeted: "'Happy to be supporting my best friend @MDMOLINARI & his j.molinari jewelry w/all my other besties in #VEGAS for a great cause @GiveLoveOrg"

She recently defended her "flirty" on-stage behaviour with topless male dancers, while estranged husband Russ is reported to have started dating other women already.
