Katy Perry capped the success of her California Dreams concert tour in the Philippines by clinching a Platinum award here for her Teenage Dream CD.
Handed out by PolyEast Records led by its Operations Manager Mr. Jesmon Chua, the 27-year-old singer accepted the award after her show last Jan. 22, 2012 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. EMI Music and PolyEast Records are also delighted to announce that after three years of Katys chart dominance, with five songs from Teenage Dream topping the charts and making her the only female artist to achieve such a feat, her latest single The One That Got Away could be her sixth chart-topper in a row.
Bringing the total haul to more than 30, 000 copies sold in the Philippines, other hit songs from Teenage Dream are the title track, "T.G.I.F. (Last Friday Night)," California Gurls," "Firework" and "E.T."
Teenage Dream was nominated recently at the 2011 Grammy Awards ceremony for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Katy also got nods for three American Music Awards, including Artist of the Year.
