Katy Perry puts on a brave face as she gets back to work after Russell Brand split

She may be sporting a new blue hairdo, but Katy Perry's newly dyed tresses certainly don't seem to reflect her mood.
Despite splitting from her husband Russell Brand last week, the 26-year-old singer was in a jovial mood as she emerged back into the spotlight for the first time last week.
Laughing and smiling, the California Gurls singer, who been laying low during the two weeks since Russell filed for divorce, had a ball filming an Adidas commercial in Santa Barbara, California.

Dressed in some fluorescent work-out gear, Katy hopped on a bike, went for a jog and did some powerful poses for the camera.
She showed off her famous curves in a tiny pair of purple nylon running shorts, paired with a matching jacket and an orange Adidas vest.
The sporty look was finished off with some bright red running shoes.

Until now Katy has been quiet since the break-up, even avoiding turning up to the People's Choice Awards last week.
Meanwhile Russell has said that he was doing 'quite well' since the couple's high-profile split.
The comic, 36, is currently back in the U.S. from London, to promote his new show Strangely Uplifting in Pasadena, California.

During the question and answer session he made reference to the headline-making December 30 split from his wife.
'I'm quite well, thank you. Are you asking because of recent events?' he said.
'Well, I suppose what you're doing is you're making the mistake as seeing time as linear.'
He added that he's misunderstood in the press.

'I listen to others,' he said.
'I accept that you must be humble. It's very important to have humility. . . I have a tendency to fly off. I'm tangential and also I'm narcissistic. I have to be very careful.'
Meanwhile, according to reports, Katy wasn't too far away from Pasadena last night, but the Firework singer avoided the glitz and celebrity crush of Golden Globes parties.

A source told Us Weekly that she watched the awards show from the comfort of her hotel room in the L.A. area.
'She has been very low key during her stay,' a hotel source said, adding that she had been ordering room service and takeout food with pals.
Her hotel stay comes as a source close to the Firework singer claims that she wants to fight to save her 14-month marriage and desperately wants to get back together with the long haired funnyman.

The insider also said that Perry is not ready to start dating any other men and has not been influenced by her Christian parents, Mary and Keith Perry, who are keen to see her date someone more religious.

But while Katy reportedly wants to sort things out, Russell is ready to move on and wants nothing more than to get some closure on the whole situation.
They are said to soon be meeting at a Beverly Hills hotel where Katy has been staying, and a ! close fr iend told The Sunday Mirror they have very different aims for the rendezvous.
The pal said to the newspaper: 'He has agreed to meet her one last time. He wants to sort things out and finalise the divorce.
'But Katy says she is still in love with him and she still has hopes they might get back together.'
Despite recent reports that her Evangelical parents have been pushing her to date Christian Denver Broncos NFL star Tim Tebow, 24, they have been in contact with their son-in-law.
The source said: 'Keith and Mary have also been reaching out to Russell and sent him a text telling him he is in their thoughts and that they love him.'
Russell, who once battled a drug addiction, has been continuing along with his wife as normally as he can.
Speaking about his new comedy series yesterday he said: 'All I want is to make people laugh and to make people happy.
'And as long as I stay in alignment with that, then I'm served by great forces.'
He also said the new series will contain elements of his real life adventures.
'I think there will be inevitable biographical elements because you can't speak from anyone's perspective but your own,' he said.
'Unless I was to bizarrely adapt some sort of avatar.'
