Katy Perry: Russell Rrand Was The Elephant In The Room

Katy Perry is busy promoting her new documentary, 'Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D', and, while she has cut some scenes about Russell Brand from the film, she has explained that leaving him out completely wouldn't make sense to the story.

The Wide Awake singer revealed to MTV that she hoped fans would understand the real Katy Perry a little better after seeing the film, which promises a no-holds-barred insight into the singer's celebrity lifestyle.

In my personal struggle, you see me not changing and not giving up on this dream that Ive had my whole life. Hopefully people are inspired by that... Hollywood is so fake and people need to realize that people are just people.

And, while Katy admitted that she will not enjoy airing her dirty launtry in public, she explained that she had to couldn't keep her crumbling relationship with Russell Brand from the cameras:

"I couldnt avoid the elephant in the room. If you were to have seen that movie and walked out and [my breakup] wasnt at all mentioned like it never happened, youd be like, Eh, this is weird, what is she trying to hide?... I dont like to hide.

The film apparently shows (of course) Katy working hard on keeping her relationship in tact, suggesting that the effort of changing her swchedule to fit around her husband was taking its toll on her mental and physical health.

A member of her crew even states in the voiceover that Katy flew out to visit Brand at least once every two weeks:

Shell fly to wherever Russell is. Shes running herself ragged.

And, in an uncomfortable scene, Katy is seen hysterically crying backstage minutes before a show, before admitting that Russell was threatened by her career a! nd had m ade her choose between her music and him.

We wonder if Russell Brand will ever publicise his own reasons for the divorce?
