Katy Perry and Florence + the Machine's Robert Ackroyd spark romance rumors at Coachella

Perry and the guitarist were spotted holding hands at the music fest.

First a model and now a fellow musician? Katy Perry has been relishing her single life since parting ways with hubby Russell Brand back in December. After being linked to French model Baptiste Giabiconi, the "Part of Me" singer is now believed to be dating Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd.

Perry, who attended Coachella last weekend with a group of friends, may have also been there to support her new beau, according to an insider.

She and a bunch of friends were supposed to go see Dr. Dre together, but Katy said she was waiting to watch her boyfriend perform! the source revealed to Life & Style.

Adding to the rumors, Perry and the Grammy Award-winning guitarist were pictured holding hands during Rihannas surprise performance with Calvin Harris. Also, the 27-year-old was reportedly using the term boyfriend to refer to her Coachella companion.

Backstage at the Artist Lounge at Coachella last weekend, Katy kept saying her boyfriend was the guitar player for Florence + the Machine, the bystander added.

Following their desert hang-out, Ackroyd mentioned his potential love interest on Twitter.

Best Coachella ever. Scratch that, best weekend ever. Dre, Snoop, Pac, Nate, Fiddy & KP, he wrote! to his followers.

Moments after his indiscreet love tweet, Ackroyd started following Perry on Twitter.

If these two music lovers are indeed smitten with each other, their romance will have to wait. Ackroyd will be touring with Florence Welch and the rest of the indie pop band until May 28.

In addition to Ackroyds busy schedule, the songstress and Brands divorce wont be finalized until July. They were married for a short 14 months before their relationship crumbled.
