gorgeous high-def that very day.Today's 'HD Hottie' is Katy Perry, who stars tonight in high-def on American Idol on Fox at 8 p.m. ET.The 27-year-old singer, who was born in Santa Barbara, California, moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to become a musical artist. But her early years were marked by bouncing from one record label to another, although critics often cited her as a coming talent.
However, it took Katy's 2008 single, "I Kissed a Girl," to put her on the map. The song -- and her new album, One of the Boys -- was criticized by some for being homophobic. But that didn't stop the record from generating huge sales and strong reviews from the critics.
