Katy Perry and John Mayer are back on as they head out on dinner date

On August 23rd reports surfaced claiming that Mayer had broken up with Perry in the fledgling stages of their romance, however this appears to be unfounded.

The California Gurls singer looked camera shy as she left Los Angeles restaurant, Little Door, with Mayer on Tuesday night.

She tried to hide her face from the photographers as the pair left and drove away together

Perry wore a casual outfit consisting of grey cropped trousers, a green floral top and matching wedges.

She accessorised with a tan shoulder bag, keeping her makeup relatively natural, aside from a slick of pink lipstick.

Meanwhile, Mayer dressed down in beige trousers, a checked shirt and brown shoes.

The couple's secretive nature is surprising as earlier this week Perry posted a picture of the two of them cosying up together at a music festival.

A witness at the FYF Fest at Los Angeles State Historic Park even told celebrity blogger Perez Hilton that they were 'all over each other' during the event.

Friends of the Firework singer are reportedly worried about her falling for the charms of bad boy Mayer, who has dated a string of famous ladies, including Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston.
