Despite rumors to the contrary, quirky couple Russell Brand and Katy Perry are still going strong one year after tying the knot.
Katy Perry addressed breakup rumors via Twitter by comparing the tabloid reports to a soap opera. On a Friday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Russell Brand also defended his marriage with a hint of humor.
"Yeah, there are always rumors, aren't there," he told DeGeneres. "In the end, you have to just not engage with Internet technology, which is difficult because a lot of the nude women websites I quite enjoy.
"But they've had to go, he added. I've treated the whole Internet now like it's a wicked little liar. Yeah. I am really happily married."
Brand, 36, said its hard to avoid the rumors because, not only is it on tabloid covers and on the Internet, but the rumors also get back to his PR team.
Being famous is like a little bit of you is taken away and goes off and lives on its own and does what it wants, he said. I wish it would do more interesting things."
While he says he doesnt know what the other part of him is up to, he is married and plans to be married to Perry until the day he dies.
I'm married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I'm still alive, he said.
Katy Perry has made it clear that she is neither pregnant nor planning to have a baby soon, but she eventually wants to expand her family.
"I would love to have children, she said last month on Ellens show. I think that's one of the reasons you get married. Especially to the person that you marry. You think, that person is going to be a good partner, a good parent."
Russell Brand, on Fridays appearance, said he desires to have a family with Perry! , 27, as well.
"I would like one," he said. "I love those little babies in the beginning...They're so lovely in that bit."
