Katy Perry to host 'Saturday Night Live' on December 10

Singer Katy Perry is set to host the December 10 episode of "Saturday Night Live" with musical guest Robyn.

"There were a lot of [skit] pitches about my boobs," Perry told Access Hollywood on Thursday. "I was cool about that, but I'm not sure all of! it [got ] in. So we'll see."

Perry appeared on the show as a musical guest in 2010 in an episode hosted by Amy Poehler where she made a tongue-in-cheek reference to the banning of a "Sesame Street" segment that featured her wearing a skimpy dress, trying to coax Elmo to play with her.

"I'm SO excited 2 announce I'll be HOSTING Saturday Night Live Dec. 10! This is the cherry on top and @robynkonichiwa is part of it," Perry wrote on her official Twitter page on November 21.

Perry said she got a lot of advice from her husband, comedian Russell Brand who hosted the show last season.

"Of course my husband [has given me advice]," Perry continued. "Every day I'm checking in with him and he's giving me the next day move on what I should do or what's gonna go on or how I should act."

The pop singer made headlines this week when she debuted a shorter, blonde hair style.

"I got off a tour and I wanted to try something new, so I cut it off," Perry explained. "And I went blond. I feel like I'm 16 all over again, because this is the same haircut I had when I was 15 and 16, so everyone's calling me [by my real name], Katy Hudson right now -- my family at least."

Perry is not the first singer to host the long-running sketch comedy series. Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake have hosted a few times. Queen Latifah and Ludacris have also hosted.

The "E.T." singer's announcement comes fresh off her big win at the American Music Awards on Sunday where she was given a special award for being the first female pop artis! t with f ive No. 1 hit singles off one album -- "Teenage Dream." Check out the full list of AMA winners).
