Katy Perry showed off her singing skills on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live last fall, but the 27-year-old is retuning to the late night sketch comedy show this weekend not as a musical guest, but to show off her comedic skills as host.

On the Dec. 10 show, Robyn will serve as musical guest. In anticipation of the big show on Saturday, the singer has been expressing her excitement over Twitter.

Werking(sic) on my hostess with the mostest skills! #actingshard #butihavenicedresses she wrote.

But Perry soon got caught up in her excitement.

I am super excited to be the musical guest on SNL this week! Yaaaaaay! she wrote before someone corrected her tweet.

@katyperry wait a min.. your(sic) only hosting dear, wrote a fan before Perry responded, Wait, IM HOSTING!?

Perrys tweets arent the only thing to get her Katy Cats excited for Saturday, a series of promos were released in which a newly blonde bobbed cat pajama-wearing Perry bantered with comedian Kenan Thompson.

In the series of promos Perry imitates her husband, Russell Brand, shows off her acting skills, and is the punch line of a joke about the spelling of her name.

So, you spell your name with an ie? said Kenan.

Y said Perry.

Well, because I want to get it right. So its K-A-T, he added.

Y said Perry again.

"I want to send you a holiday card. How do you spell it?

K-A-T-Y said Perry.

Oh, why? added Kenan.

Although Katy Perry do! esnt act regularly, she appeared in a sketch last year mocking her canceled Sesame Street appearance. She also voiced Smurfette in The Smurfs this summer and appeared on How I Met Your Mother early this year.

According to MTV News shes not the only musician who has hosted. Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Ludacris, Paul Simon, Queen Latifah and Sting have all hosted in the past.
