The couple is plagued with divorce rumors

With other stars such as Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries paving the way for divorce rumors when it comes to couples who really arent getting one, Russell Brand is defending his marriage to pop star Katy Perry.

The actor appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and was forced to laugh off divorce rumors surrounding he and his California Gurls wife.

When asked about it, Brand joked "What? She should've of told me!" USA Today reports.

"Yeah, there are always rumors, aren't there? In the end you have to just not engage with Internet technology, which is difficult because a lot of the nude women websites I quite enjoy, he laughed, continuing, "But they've had to go. I've treated the whole Internet now like it's a wicked little liar. Yeah. I am really happily married."

Brand then talked about fame and its pitfalls. "Being famous is like a little bit of you is taken away and goes off and lives on its own and does what it wants. I wish it would do more interesting things, he said.

He then declared that he is "married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I'm still alive."

Meanwhile, Perry is forced to do the same. The Associated Press reports that Perry called out the inconsistencies in the media, tweeting, "First I'm pregnant & then I'm divorced. What am I? All My Children?! Erica Kane? Pshhh."
