Katy Perry announces new perfume deal
Pop star Katy Perry has announced a new deal with Coty fragrances, producers of perfumes for brands including Adidas, Calvin Klein, Chlo, Davidoff, Marc Jacobs, OPI, philosophy, Playboy, Rimmel and Sally Hansen.

Perry has already released two fragrances -- Purr in November 2010 and Meow ,which came out just before Christmas in 2011 -- but a new deal with Coty Inc. has set the stage for a new fragrant feline friend to emerge.
Perry is just one if many pop icons looking to maximize their exposure in the world of luxury perfume. Music stars including Rihanna (Rebelle, Reb'l Fleur, and Nude) and Nicki Minaj (Pink Friday) have recently released perfumes, along with Madonna, who has her own Truth or Dare fragrance, with its own slightly risqu poster campaign.
Katy Perry saw her second studio album, Teenage Dream, achieve global success in 2010. The album debuted at #1 in 8 countries and has spent every week in Billboard's Top 200 album sales chart since its release 2 years ago. Known for her wild style, Perry also has deals with hair styling company ghd and is one of the faces of the Adidas sportswear company.
The new deal with Katy Perry will see Coty take over the distribution and marketing of Perry's existing Purr and Meow fragrances, as well as develop new lines for the pop princess. We can almost certainly expect new Katy Perry fragrances in 2013.
