Rihanna and Katy Perry are taking their much-publicized friendship to a professional level: namely, a duet between the musical hit-makers and tabloid fixtures.

"We have been working on this for years. We still are trying to make a song together, Katy Perry and I," Rihanna said in an interview with Access Hollywood. "She is one of my favorite musicians, as well as one of my favorite people in the industry."

Oh, go on, Rihanna.

"She's very uncalculated, very sure of herself, and thats something very rare in this industry to find," said the "We Found Love" star, adding: "I wont say that its happening right now, but its going to happen."

Rihanna and Perry freqently exchange banter on Twitter, and before Perry married now-ex-husband Russell Brand in October 2010, Rihanna threw her a bachelorette party in Las Vegas.

Speaking of Brand, Perry is about to release the music video for her song "Part of Me," wherein she sports military fatigues to seemingly send a stern message to the comedian.

Rihanna, meanwhile, fanned the flames of controversy when she reunited with ex Chris Brown -- at least, musically -- on a pair of remixes of their tracks "Birthday Cake" and "Turn Up the Music."
