Its less G.I. Jane and more In the Army Now, but Katy Perrys new pop-military video for Part of Me is still an intense ride.

It begins as a sort of indie flick, with Perry watching a crappy boyfriend flirt with someone at work. Livid and emotionally fragile, Perry runs off and does what anyone with a broken heart would do: join the Marines in wartime.

And Perry goes all out for the video. As she told MTV, where the video premiered last night, the singer went through rigorous boot camp training, consumed MRE rations (They tasted like a McRib!), and started using the word bro.
