Katy Perry Was 'Too Busy' For Marriage To Russell Brand

Katy Perry's marriage to Russell Brand apparently failed because she was "too busy", according to her father.

Speaking to US Magazine, Keith Hudson broke his silence regarding the end of Perry and Russell's union, blaming the Piece Of Me singer's California Dreams world tour for their split.

Hudson explained: "Her career got really busy and she did not get to see that much of Russell it was just one of those things. Katy is doing well just now."

Perry's dad also went on to reveal that despite their break-up, he's still very much in contact with Brand, adding to the publication: "There are no hard feelings towards Russell I just received a text from him the other day. He is a wonderful and smart guy."

As for Katy's rumoured new squeeze, French model Baptiste Giabiconi, Keith added: "I dont know anything about this male model guy. She is healthy and happy now."

The Teenage Dream star has previously slammed her parents for commenting on her private life, posting on Twitter: "NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, close sources or my family."

In other Katy Perry news, reports have suggested that three publishers are competing for Perry to dish the dirt on her divorce from Russell, with offers already topping the 2million mark.

A source told The Sun: "When everything was going well, Katy couldn't stop talking about him. Since the split neither of them have said anything keeping the price of a deal high."
