The singer, who is scheduled to release the 3D movie following her both on and off stage this summer, has invited all her Twitter followers to help shape the final cut of the movie.
In a partnership between Paramount Insurge Pictures and Twitter, Perry's fans will be able to interactively choose which songs Perry sings and even give input on her costume choices.
Insurge Pictures president Amy Powell said: "[It] is a really fun and engaging movie that celebrates every aspect of Katy's life including her relationship with fans. What better way to kick start the filmmaking process than by inviting her millions of fans on Twitter into her world?"
Twitter's CEO Dick Costolo added: "Millions of Katy's most passionate fans use Twitter every day to hear directly from her and get a unique glimpse into the life of one of music's biggest stars. With this new approach to filmmaking, Paramount is taking the connections forged on Twitter one step further by empowering people to take part in the movie."
Any member of the public can follow Perry on Twitter to get involved with the project and to see exclusive behind-the-scenes content from the movie.
