Russell Brand 'not seeking Katy Perry's money in divorce'

Russell Brand is reportedly not seeking any of Katy Perry's money in their divorce proceedings.

Brand is apparently not exercising the comedian's right under California law to community property, which would include half of Perry's rumoured $20m (12.5m) fortune. The pair did not have a prenuptial agreement, according to reports.

A friend told TMZ: "This divorce is as amicable as it gets, and Russell was a [good person]."

Attorneys for Brand apparently submitted final divorce papers to an LA court this week, but the couple will have to wait until a six-month holding period is up on June 30 for their divorce to be granted.

Brand filed for divorce from Perry on December 14 after 14 months or marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of the split.

It was reported this week that Perry had reporters removed from the red carpet at a Super Bowl event because she is not ready to discuss the break-up of her marriage.
