Katy Perrys first single from The Complete Confectionto be Part of Me: Listen to a snippet here!

Yesterday came the news that Katy Perry would be rereleasing her latest album as a special edition titled Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, complete with three new singles.

Now Perry has announced that the first new song will be Part of Me, which will hit radio and retailers on Feb. 21.

The lovelorn ditty a snippet from which you can find below fits right into the cohesive, radio-ready pop sounds that were Dreams 12 original tracks, five of which its been said but its worth restating, honestly hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. (She was the first female artist to ever have five No. 1s from the same album, and the second artist ever, after Michael Jackson.)

Part of Me with a chorus that tells a lover that this is the part of me that youre never gonna ever take away from me seems like it could have fit easily on the albums original release it sonically falls somewhere between her most recent single The One That Got Away (which stalled at No. 3 on the Hot 100) and the albums second single, Teenage Dream. Teenage Dream is proving to have really, really long legs lead single California Gurls was released in May of 2010(!) and Part of Me could make it run that much further.

In addition to the three new songs, the rerelease of Dream will include all 12 original tracks, as well as versions of E.T. featuring Kanye West and Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) featuring Missy Elliott, an acoustic version of The One Th! at Got A way, and a seven-minute megamix of the albums six originally released singles. The Complete Confection hits March 27.

For now, though, enjoy a 30-second taste of Part of Me here:
