The 'Piece of Me' singer took to twitter to send her pal a foul-mouthed message on her 24th birthday today (20.02.12) and told her to "keep it real" when she goes out.
Katy tweeted: "@rihanna HAPPY BIRFDAY u hoodrat, bear****, crazy, sexy ass, freaky whole bit beotch. I (heart) u so much. Keep it real tonight, as I know u will! (sic)"
The pop beauty - who recently finalised her divorce from Russell Brand - also urged Rihanna to make sure she has lots of cake to mark the special day.
She wrote: "#cakecakecakecake (sic)"
Katy wasn't the only star to take to the micro-blogging site to wish Rihanna a happy birthday.
Her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown - who was convicted of assaulting her in 2009 - sent a cryptic message to his former lover which she re-tweeted, adding: "Thanks! RT @chrisbrown: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBYN! (sic)"
Chris was among the guests at Rihanna's birthday party at her Beverly Hills home on Monday (13.02.12) psarking rumours they may have reconciled. Other stars in attendance included Kelly Rowland and Bruno Mars.
Rihanna is spending her birthday in London ahead of her performance at the BRIT Awards at The 02 arena on Tuesday night (21.02.12).
The 'We Found Love' singer was still up working on new material in a recording studio when the clock struck midnight to signal the next year of her life .
In a series of twitter posts, she revealed: "Brit rehearsal went smoove! Next stop, set up studio in a hotel room! I'll be turning 24 making mu$ic!!!
"This has to be the funniest night of my life!!! I have not STOPPED laughing!!!!!
"I can't beli! eve I'm pullin an all nighter on my BDAY!!! (sic)"
