Although Katy Perry chose to pass up an invitation for a spot on American Idol, there are some things she simply cant pass up the opportunity to participate in. Katy Perry, 28, is out on the campaign trail giving free concerts at re-election rallies in support of President Barack Obama.
According to Yahoo, Katy Perry is doing more than just showing up and singing some tunes. Shes also wearing skintight rubber outfits that make a bold statement of her support for President Obama. At the rallies, Katy rocked a white rubber mini-dress with a ballot saying President of the United States on the front and the voters box filled in with black by her choice, Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Katys other number is a blue rubber mini-dress with the word Forward embellished vertically in red and white. And to top it off, she sang with a microphone shaped like the Statue of Liberty.
Perry told those in attendance, Dont wait; go tomorrow. Then she adds, How many of you guys are 18 in here? Lets do this tomorrow.
According to Billboard, Perry talks about supporting Obama and her number one issue for this presidential election. The number one issue for me is equal rights, whether its being able to be equal in love and being treated equally whether you have ovaries or not.
But Perry isnt the only singer turning out to perform free concerts in support of President Obama. Bruce Springsteen, The Boss is also rocking out to show his support, though he is a bit under dressed compared to Perry. Springsteen chose to take a simpler approach to his attire, wearing jeans, a dark shirt, tie, and suit vest.
Also in attendance at the rally in support of President Obama was former President, Bill Clinton. He told the nearly 24,000 in attendance; I give my voice in the service of my president, Clinton said about losing his voice from campaigning for Obama on Saturday in Virginia.
What do you think of Perrys support for Obama? And what about those rubber mini-dresses? Post a comment below and let us know what you think.
