The pair have been dating for around four months and things are reportedly going so well, they hope to be in a new place by Christmas. Despite John's lothario reputation, friends claim he's really turned it around for Katy.
A source told The Sun: John and Katy have decided to give it a proper go and want to find a place in LA to share."
However, though the 'Firework' singer appears head over heels for Mayer, her friends are said to be not as keen and are hoping the romance fizzles out.
The insider went on: But lots of people are willing them to fail. They row a bit and have quite a turbulent up-and-down relationship, despite it only being a few months old."

Only a few weeks ago the couple were spotted in Katy's hometown of Santa Barbara for a romantic trip. They were seen visited the Old Mission Church in the pretty town, fueling rumours they were even looking for wedding venues.
