This weekend got off to a star-studded start when a host of celebrities took part in the BBC's Children in Need appeal. Little Mix, Girls Aloud and One Direction were just some of the musical performers, while EastEnders actress Shona McGarty stunned everyone with her movie starlet looks and powerful singing voice.

Elsewhere in the capital, Katherine Jenkins was interviewed on the Heart breakfast show with Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott, Rafe Spall attended the after-party for his play Constellations, and Ellie Goulding arrives at the first evening of the Somerset House Ice Rink in London. Conor Maynard was also in the festive mood as he switched on the Christmas lights at Bluewater Shopping Centre.

Movies of the moment Skyfall and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II continued to premiere around the world. Naomie Harris promoted the latest Bond flick in Sydney, whilst Kristen Stewart attended the Germany premiere of the last Twilight movie.

In the US, Katy Perry attended the Celebration of Dreams Gala and Mariah Carey was in town for Nickelodeon's TeenNick HALO Awards. Elsewhere, Rihanna continued her '777' tour in Paris.
