Katy Perry Turns Down $20 Million Offer To Judge American Idol (Report)

"American Idol" has reportedly been pushing hard to add Katy Perry to their roster of judges.

According to TMZ, the FOX reality juggernaut initially offered the pop star $18 million (the same amount reportedly paid to newly-signed judge Mariah Carey), but Katy turned it down.

"Idol" upped their offer to the "Wide Awake" singer to $20 million for a one-year contract, but she refused, the website reported.

Sources reportedly told TMZ that money isn't the issue behind Katy's decision to turn down the offers, she just doesn't feel joining the long-running show is the "right career choice for her."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, country star Keith Urban may be heading to "Idol" instead.

A source told the trade mag that Keith could be joining already announced Mariah Carey, and rumored second judge Nicki Minaj, for a cool $3-$4 million salary for Season 12.
