Katy Perry and John Mayer are a couple

John Mayer likes playing the field.

The long-haired singer was spotted with Katy Perry on Wednesday, showing hes capable of landing A-list Hollywood women. The duo has stopped trying to hide their budding romance and spent the evening together at Chateau Marmont. They couldnt hide from the paparazzi on their way home, however.

Perry looked relaxed in a white lace dress and Mayers hair was as unruly as ever. Mayer flashed an occasional grin while Perry smiled demurely as he drove.

The date is almost two months after the singers engaged in a display of affection last month at the Soho House in West Hollywood, where they were seen together on June 19.

Perrys friend said wedding bells wont be ringing anytime soon.

I dont think either of them are trying anything serious right now, she told People. Shes not talking like hes The OneShes comfortable around guys who understand the craziness of that world, which he definitely does.

Perry silenced critics as well.

For me, right now, Im totally not looking, she said. Im just looking to heal. And Im on that path. Im not down on love.
