Katy Perry on being a role model: Im not going to be everything to everyone
Katy Perry is growing up and moving on. The Wide Awake singer has closed the book on her year-long marriage to Russell Brand and looking at her future with a positive never say never attitude.
Katy, 27, has always had dedicated fans, also known as Katy Cats, that will always have her back. But although she appreciates her fans and their support, she hopes they dont follow her lead.
Being looked up to as a role model is just one of those things that come with being a celebrity, but In the new issue of Elle Magazine, Perry said she doesnt want to be seen as a role model.
I have no regrets [but]Im not going to be everything to everyone, she told the September issue of Elle Magazine. I cant tell a person when its time for them to have sex. Or if they should have a cigarette.
Still, as a celebrity, she hopes that she can send a positive message.
I try to live my life with a lot of integrity, and, hopefully, that sends a message, she added.
Role model or not, the Part of Me singer still has a lot to do in her career, so fans will be seeing a lot of her. She says, maybe one day shell introduce different Katy Perry to the world.
"I love what I do, and when I don't love what I do, I'll make a change, she said. I can't be the candy queen forever."
