Katy Perry to stop working with producer Dr Luke

Katy Perry

Katy Perry and Dr Luke's professional relationship is over after the producer signed a new deal with Sony music.

The pair worked closely together on Perry's chart-topping album Teenage Dream, which spawned the Dr Luke-produced hits 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'E.T.' and 'Last Friday Night'.

However, The New York Times reports that the international hit-maker - real name Lukasz Gottwald - will join Sony Music in the New Year to start his own record label.

Gottwald will found Kemosabe Records, which is expected to become operational in January and includes a binding contract as part of the deal.

The new signing means Gottwald can only write and produce with Sony artists, so his work with Perry must come to an end as she is signed to EMI.

The popstar is currently preparing to release the Dr Luke-produced 'The One That Got Away', which will be the sixth cut from Teenage Dream.
