Katy Perry finds outdated reality show judges "completely hilarious"
Katy reckons it's pretty funny when talent show judges haven't worked in the industry for decades
Katy, you better not be having a go at Tom Jones, alright?
Katy Perry has said that she finds it "hilarious" when reality talent shows hire judges who are, let's face it, a bit passed it.
When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if she would ever be tempted to take a role as a judge on a show permanently she said, "People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved and I think that it's not right for me now. I have ideas for two or three big, creative things and I want to be able to fulfill those ideas. And it's a real commitment to be on one of those shows."

When nudged into revealing how she really feels and if she's philosophically opposed to them, she said, "No, I'm not opposed to it. I think some of those shows are better than others. I like to give constructive criticism that hopefully people can apply and find valuable. But I do find it completely hilarious when they hire people that are not current in music and haven't been for a decade or over. Or when they're not even in music. How are you going to give a perspective when you haven't even lived it?"
Ooh, who could she! be talk ing about? Simon's go-to mate Paula Abdul? American Idol judge Steve Tyler? He's been around the block a bit. Or maybe The Voice's Sir Tom Jones? Don't start beef with The Jones, Katy, it'll end badly.
How can a man who pulls off these trousers with such great style and panache ever be 'outdated'?

Katy previously revealed that she'd turned down the chance to replace Kelly Rowland on The X Factor UK, but she did serve as a guest judge in 2010.
The interview also mentions how even though Katy is thought to be one of the richest female pop stars in the world, she reckons touring munches up all her cash: "If I made $50million I probably spent $45million of it touring. You have to spend a lot to make a lot. It's not like I'm sitting on top of a pile of money." (Sitting on top of the $5million left would suit us just fine, thanks.)
And she also talks about how she invested $2million of her own money into her new film Katy Perry: Part of Me: "My business partner was sweating, but I was like 'It will be okay'. I could feel something in the air from the people putting out the good juju. With the movie I knew I was either going bankrupt or about to have the biggest success of my life."
And we can confirm that the latter has happened. Phew.
