Katy wears Perry sensible gear for bike ride

The pink-haired pop princess went on a romantic cycle in New York with her husband Russell Brand on the eve of their first wedding anniversary.

The California Gurls singer covered up her locks in a black hat with ears and wore dark sunnies.

The pair have been surrounded by rumours of a split, but they looked happy as they enjoyed the date.

Earlier this month Russell was turned away from Canada just two months after being denied access to Japan.

He tweeted: "Help! I'm gonna be late for Casino Rama show unless someone can force Canadian customs officials to let us land in Orillia!"

But Russell's efforts were in vain and he was forced to cancel that night's gig for 5,000 fans. He took to Twitter again to write: "I can't enter Canada. We must abolish the borders between our nations and our minds."
